The distance between Lefkada and mainland Greece is less than 50 meters and they are connected with a floating bridge, being one of the few islands in Greece that you can reach it by car or bus.

 You can reach Meganisi:

• By plane to Aktio airport and from there 20 minutes drive to Lefkada. From Nydri you board on the ferry-boat to Meganisi (4 nautical miles).
• By flying boat from the city of Lefkada.
  
• By car or bus to Nydri in Lefkada.
  
• From Kefalonia and Ithaca with ferry-boat to Lefkada (Vasiliki or Nydri).

 Meganisi lies 4 nautical miles southeast of Lefkada where there is frequent ferry boat service to Meganisi. The trip lasts 25 minutes and the visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view to the many islets scattered around Meganisi such as Madouri with the old family house of the greek poet Valaoritis and the islet of Skorpios, still owned by the famous Onassis family.

 The island has a good road network and local transportation.
